Assistance with accomplishing task - editing stl file

Hello, I recently import an stl file.  I would like to do couple of edit:

1. I would like to make it into a shell

2. I would like to add detail that extruder (emboss/cut) from the model itself.

I tried a couple of methods.  But none seem to work.

I have attached picture on how the back looks and the

nt.  to include the detail I want to add to the front.

Hi,

Instead of using the STL base, you should familiarize yourself with the Form tools and create the object with them. Then a lot of things will be easier.

I do both.  But I figured out the first task.  Now just need to figure out how to add the details.
