Assigned item numbers not shown in BOM table

Hi,

For every part I create, I assign a Item Number using the Manage extension. I want to display this in the BOM table in the drawing of the parts. At first it worked fine, all numbers displayed correctly, but suddenly they were gone. Any idea why?

Hi @vegard.midtboen3DK2Q

Manage Extension (ME) properties are pulled from the manage extension database. This means that a model could be updated while you are working on the drawing.

ME properties are refreshed when the drawing is opened, printed or exported to PDF.

The --- indicates that the property is either blank or out of date. If you click on Export to PDF, all ME properties are refreshed (just like re-opening the file).

Hi @ClintBrown3D

Unfortunately, this does not work. The item numbers are still lost when I try to re-open the file or export to PDF.

Your solution worked fine until I assigned the drawing with a Item Number as well. After that, I'm not able to update the fields.

Hi @vegard.midtboen3DK2Q ,
Is it the case that once you Assign Drawing Number to drawing using Manage Extension, after that the Item Number of Part is showing ---- in PartsList?

Hi @vegard.midtboen3DK2Q ,

I have couple of more queries.
1. Are you getting this problem in any specific file only, or it's happening for all the files?
2. Is this issue happening only today?

Hi @tarkeshwar.shah

Just tried this with a new design. Works fine for that.

Do you know if there are any workarounds for my current problem. I really don't want to start all over again just to fix this problem.

Hi @vegard.midtboen3DK2Q ,

Can you please try by creating new Drawing from the existing Design? I think it should work fine now.
I am doubting that the issue you observed, might have happened due to internet connectivity.
Even try opening the drawing file (you were observing the issue) after some time. That should work fine too.

I also checked at our end, and things are working fine.
If you still face the issue, then I would request you to please send me the design file(if possible) for validating at my end.

Hi @tarkeshwar.shah

I tried what you suggested, creating a new drawing from design. This works, and the link to the item numbers are back. However, for my drawing file, it is still not working.

I can try to send the design to you.

Hi @vegard.midtboen3DK2Q ,

Glad to know that at-least you don't need to create the design file again.

Since Item Numbers are coming fine with new drawing created from the design, it means the design file is fine. There maybe the case that the link between the drawing file(having issue) and design file is having an issue. Can you please share the drawing file to me, instead of design?

Sure. How do I share? Is it possible to send PM, or do you have a e-mail address I can use?
