Assembly issue

Hello,

I am having trouble with making an assembly joint. I have this puncher handle which revolves around the pin it is attached to. I want it to push the piece under it as it revolves. I am thinking of putting a spring below that piece to be pushed, so I imagine to attach it to face of the eccentric circle there. When I try making a joint simply selecting the faces it doesn't work and I don't know what to do. Is it not something that can be done with a simple assembly joint? I would appreciate any suggestion. Below you can find the f3d file.

You are going to want to apply a Contact Set between the cam and the plunger top.  Then you will want to add Joint Limits to the Slider joint of the plunger.  Model is attached for you to work with.

One thing to add to this conversation is that contact set are resource hogs. If the design doesn to get much more complex this should work, but I've seen many cases where deelting contact sets were the only way to return an assembly to normal behavior.

Let me ask one more question. I have applied a Contact Set and it works the way I wanted. But when I move the plunger up pushing the handle like here (without any joint constraints) and then try to hold the handle to push the plunger back, it doesn't move to that direction. I guess there isn't any obstruction, to be realistic it should move. Why doesn't it? Am I asking too much from a software?

You are now experiencing, what @TrippyLighting mentioned, contact sets are not dependable in all situations.  In the Screencast I try to show how the plunger can move the cam but the cam cannot move the plunger in certain positions simply due to the fact Fusion 360 can generate the contact set.
