Archiving of a Folder-level project resulted in losing permissions reoccuring

I've had this issue in the past and it appears to be specific to folder-level projects. When attempting to unarchive a FLP, the project doesn't unarchive and permissions are not restored (including admins). The admins thus lack the permissions to resolve the issue thus leaving project completely inaccessible. I was informed that the issue was reported internally as ATEAM-39294 and was subsequently fixed, but the issue's returned.

Hi,

Just a few questions to make sure I understand the problem.

  1. Are you not able to unarchive a folder level project?
  2. Are you able to unarchive a folder level project and permissions are not restored in the project?

Thank you!

The latter. I was able to restore (unarchive) the project folder. I cannot restore the permissions. Thank you.

I have the same issue I believe. I cannot unarchive my project and it has now disappeared from both the active and archived sections.

Hi,

When you  restore (unarchive) the project, you cannot restore the permissions - This is by design.

Thank you!

(Resolved)

I tried to restore a folder-level project in Fusion Team Hub. During this process, an error occurred ("Something went wrong, please try again later"), and now the project is gone from both the "All Projects" and "Archived" tabs. As I do not have a local copy of the project, all files are completely gone and inaccessible to me. Is this similar/related to the issue of this post, and if so, is there any way to resolve it? If relevant, the missing project name was called "Farnwerk." Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

All of my archived projects are no longer visible/able to be accessed. This is alarming.

That exactly the situation I have, including that error prior to their complete disappearance.

Hi @Ron_Young ,

Our development team is looking into the issue. We need more details:

  1. What is your hub Url?
  2. What is your email id?

Thank you!

https://outlook27632.autodesk360.com/g/all_projects/active

and of course

https://outlook27632.autodesk360.com/g/all_projects/archived

empty

Which it remains, even if I this minute make a new test project and then archive it, it vanishes and is not visible, lost in the ether.

My email ID? You mean the address you emailed me at? The one and same.

Over a week to respond, lucky I don't rely on this data commercially.

O HOLD ON A MINUTE!!

It is very fortunate I had downloaded all 10gb to local storage isn't it.

That way at least I could work on it in another non cloud application that IS reliable.

At this point I frankly don't care if don't/can't restore my missing data as I know from this that your backend simply can't be trusted. You do need to fix the vanishing archives though, because I imagine, I'm not the only one.

For anyone else playing along.

This python tool can insure your file integrity by allowing you to take control of your own IP rather than leaving it up to a third party.

Yes they have reappeared, restored from a backup no doubt, what date? who knows.

I have just completed deleting all of them, as this incident, along with the previous broken links fiasco has made it painfully obvious that this tool, or rather it's backend infrastructure, and it's management simply cannot be relied upon for MY DATA.

The grand cloud to rule them all experiment is simply inadequate and unfit for purpose, you can't be trusted. I now have the very minimal footprint of files in your system and will keep it that way while I look at transitioning to someone elses CAD solution.
