OK, took a second look at your image.

File>Export and then Attach your *.f3d file here that exhibits this behavior.

@Anonymous - please share the model here.  That "black square" looks to me like a body on which you have created the sketch.  You can turn off body visibility in the browser if that is in your way.  The color will be driven by the material/appearance you are using on the body.

Can you File>Export your *.f3d file to your local drive and then Attach it here to a Reply?

it was just the fact that the grid was set to 0.1 mm from the past project while now i'm creating a bigger one starting from a canva. By zooming out the grid doesn't adapt automatically and the lines get very dense on the plane resulting in a black square. I didn't think about that since, in other software i use, the grid step adacts itself while zooming in and out.

you can control the grid setting, to be either fixed or adaptive:
