Animation Storyboards not showing up in drawings

Hey Forum,

I can't get my newly created drawings to recognize current animation storyboards. Pasted below are my new ones (please forgive the names, it makes sense to me lol) and the drawings from animation I created, none of the current ones show up, and when I attempt to save the drawing, Fusion crashes. Everything is saved. I'm really at a dead end here.

When you have an existing 2D Drawing open, and after creating a new Storyboard, you must save the assembly or animation model.  When you go back to the drawing, you will see the Refresh Triangle at the top of the drawing.  Click on that and after it finishes you will have access to your new Storyboards.

I agree with John feedback. The new animation needs to save, and refresh/update in drawing, then new storyboards will be displayed as Representation, showing as attached video.

Please check if it is still an issue there, or it could be a dataset specific issue, please share the dataset with us for further investigation.

This isn't an existing drawing, its newly created after I've made the new storyboards.

If you want to share the dataset, simple attach your MODEL to a reply post.  We will create a new drawing and see if there are any issues on our application.  From there, we will advise you.

If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

I have this problem right now with one of my files. Whenever I make a new 2D drawing and change the representation to one of my animations, it only shows old animations from older revisions of the model. It doesn't display any of the new animation representations that I have made and saved. Its weird. I would post my model but there is some proprietary information in it.

I even copied the 3D model without any drawings, then made a new drawing and its still referencing the old animations and not showing any of the new animations.

Once a 2D Drawing is created using a selected Storybook Animation, it cannot be changed in that drawing.  When making a new 2D Drawing you must select the Storybook Animation you desire.

I'm having the same issue. Did this get resolved?

I've created new animations and they're not showing up as an option to display in the drawing. I've tried creating a new drawing as well and the new Storyboards aren't showing up in the drop down.

The Root cause was resolved in March release by configuration.

In the build before March, Please do not use Export to make a certain configuration as a standard design. Please use "Save Configuration As" to get the standard design from a configuration.  Now this issue has been resolved. For the previous dataset, we need to re-export from orignial file, or share with us to repair it.

Attached is the repair dataset. Please check if it works. Thanks

Please share the dataset with us for investiagtion.

If it was exported from configuratin, please use "Save Configuration As" to get the standard design from a configuration. For existing dataset, we can take a look and check if it can be repaired. Thanks

This issue is not resolved methinks.  I have the exact issue on a drawing I started in June '24 on the newest update.  How do we fix this?

There is another issue reported in Animation feature, which is WIP.

@jdshulerVFM52 , Can you share the dataset with us, or share it by mail? Then we can check if it is the same as the open issue.  Thanks

I have the same Problem.

Some old Storyboards show up that don't even exist anymore. And all of the new ones are not showing up in the List.

This has been happening to me a lot lately. Its easier to just remake the 3D model from the beginning. Hopefully they come out with a fix soon.
