Alterbnative to FusionFiller Add-In?

Hello all,

My goal is to design an object for 3D printing with gradient infill, for ex., the top of the object is 10% hex pattern infill and at the bottom it 80% infill hex pattern; I don't want to use a slicer app for this but to have the infill pattern as part of the design.

I found this add-in FusionFiller that was looking promising, however, whenever I used it Fusion hangs and never completed the task.

Is there any way to get to the same result as that add-in was designed for without using it?

Many thanks in advance!

Best,

Ram

You could do something like this cone shaped hole or a tapered hexagon through the part by patterning one hole but if the pattern is very large, Fusion will be very slow just the same. When it came time to print, you would have to set the slicer to 100 percent infill to make the infill like you want. I would recommend though using the slicer to make the infill. I think Cura can do a gradual infill.

Thx wmhazzard,

I thought about using patterns but it creates other issues, i guess there's no escape than to use slicer (Cura can do what I want) after all but i need the output file as STEP type so that's another hurdle i need to deal with..
