All My Old Project Files Have Disappeared

Since the recent Fusion Hub upgrade, all my old projects have disappeared. While I can access projects created recently, anything from before the upgrade is missing.

I have thoroughly reviewed all relevant support articles but have been unable to locate my missing files—neither within Fusion nor online.

One thing I have noticed is that when I click on the Team Hub in Fusion, a different email address appears from the one I am logging in with. Both addresses belong to me, but I suspect this discrepancy may be related to the issue.

I have searched extensively and would greatly appreciate any assistance in recovering my old projects.

Thanks for posting this.

It sounds like you might have moved the projects to a hub associated with the email you mentioned, which is not the one you log in with.

Have you ever created a hub with the other email, the one that is not the login?

If you are a commercial subscriber you can contact support. Do you want help with that?

Hi Phil,

Thank you for the response.

Yes, I believe the projects were associated with the email shown in the Team Hub, which is not the one I use to log in to Fusion. To clarify, I have not intentionally moved my projects to a different hub, and I suspect that this discrepancy is causing the issue.

I am currently on a free non-commercial plan, but if it’s possible to receive direct support for this issue, I would greatly appreciate it. I’ve been trying to recover my old projects and would be very grateful for any guidance on resolving this.

Thank you again for your time and assistance.

Best regards,

Meini

Have you tried to log into Fusion using the Autodesk ID (email) you mentioned was associated with the projects you are looking for?  If you cannot do this then try and log into this site using the Autodesk ID you mentioned.  From here you can download files to your local drive, then open them in Fusion and save them any location you desire.

Thank you for your response, John.

I have logged into Fusion with my Autodesk ID as you mentioned and I can use Fusion to create new files and folders. But there are no old ones any more, they have completely disappeared.

Logging on with the link you gave me gives me the same files and folders I created recently, but none of the old ones either. At the top level I can see folders as per attached screenshot. The two folders in Admin Projects are recent ones, but as I said the old ones are not there. Curiously none of the file in Default Project are from me, I take it they are some sample files.

In the second screenshot you can see what comes up when I click on the top left area. This is not the email I am logging in with, but it belongs to me nevertheless. I suspect the issue is related to the two different email addresses, but I am not getting my head around how this Team Hub thing works, as my plan doesn't really allow me to explore much.

@Phil.E you asked "Have you ever created a hub with the other email, the one that is not the login?" and sorry, I wasn't very clear on this in my initial response, but I remember now, I might have done exactly that.  I think I created the hub with my "normal" email address, my login email is different, still valid, but hardly used.

I have also uploaded a few screenshots in response to @jhackney1972 's reply.

Try to login using the normal email address. This should give you access to the data. If you invite one hub to the other, and give full permissions for both users, you should be able to transfer the data.

So, I log in with my original Fusion email  ...icloud.com, but seem to be logged on as ...utech... See also attached screenshot. At no point do I use my utech email account when logging in. It is just there. I tried changing it to my iCloud email address in the hope the two will merge somehow, but there does not seem to be an option, besides I am worried that I might loose my current projects too as I really don't know what I am doing with this team hub. I am not easily confused, but this one does it to me.

I appreciate the time you all have taken so far to respond to my enquiry.

In the meantime something has been happening. I am not sure if I caused this because I tried to invite myself, as @Phil.E suggested or if someone was working in the background trying to fix it, but things were going totally haywire all of a sudden so I logged out of everything and closed Fusion.

After I logged back in, it seems that all my old projects have appeared again (except for one) but my new ones are all gone now! Luckily I have an offline cache of at least some of those. There is also an orphaned upload in progress, which I cannot stop.  The utech email address does not appear anywhere any more, and I get a message to update my personal project, which I did. My old files are still there, not the new ones though.

I have lost somewhat faith in this system and just wanted to make sure this is all setup correctly now. When I click on Open the Web from Fusion I can see my old files.  When I click on my initials I get the attached screenshot. Going to the the bottom one "Team hub -Meini R" I get empty folders (apart from those sample files).

Is this the way it supposed to be?  I just want to make sure I don't  lose things again.

As briefly mentioned above, Fusion is now stuck trying to upload one of the files from when I was connected with the utech email account.
I have deleted the UploadQueued FileList.xml, jobs.json, and jobs.json.lck files in the W.login and P.login folders respectively, and after I have done this twice, it seems to have done the trick.

For anyone having the same issue, these files are located here:

Windows: Open File Explorer and go to C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\

Mac: Open Finder, press Cmd + Shift + G, and enter ~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/
