Align doesn't move origin

I built a shelf component relative to the origin. When I use the Align tool to align the shelf to a wall in my model, the shelf moves to the wall, but the origin stays where it is.

The Move tool will move the component and the origin together, the Align tool does not. I have Component selected in the align palette.

I even created a rigid joint to one of the sub components to the origin in the main shelf component, but that doesn't do it. It seems the "rigid" joint actually moves away from the origin too (how is that possible?)

For some reason, moving components is very frustrating and slows me down the most.

If your component was modeled on and constrained to it's origin, the origin will move with the component using either the Align command or using a Joint.  The video will show this.

The origin that you show is not the origin of the object you selected.  When you selected a face, you were not actually selecting "Basic Shelf", but, instead, one of its child components.  I suspect it was "Basic Shelf Supports Length":

Then, later, you are toggling the origin of Basic Shelf:

And, Basic Shelf has not moved.  Instead, the child components, which I assume are held together with rigid joints moved.  If you make their origins visible, you will see that they have moved (inside of the higher-level Basic Shelf component).

Thank you for the insightful replies. This was my first time using components this way.

what worked for me was setting my component to have a Rigid Group. I right clicked on the component in the tree and selected Rigid Group.
