After two years, Fusion is still buggy, gdi16res.dll,hcreg16res.dll is missing

I have to say I am quite disappointed how the Fusion is developed.
First of all - why it cant be installed on other drive than C? Is this normal?

Next - why is it still changing and updating? I need to work, not to learn new icons, new features and search where did go the features I am use to work with. In the past, each update introduced some bug. Finally I had to disallow updates so I stuck with 2018 version. Happy. No changes, no bugs. This month Fusion told me, that the version is too old and stopped working. So I installed new version. I got new icons and bugs again. This is really stupid.

Solving gdi16res.dll is leading to another error saying hcreg16res.dll is missing. How can be this fixes? I have to say I am really disappointed and tired. At the end of my 3year licence I will consider to migrate to better tool. Any suggestion?

Hi.

In my experience, I have been working with 3D-Software for soon 25 years, a software never stops to develop.

Fusion 360 released in 2013, has not even got 10 years old.

Take a look at Autodesk Inventor and see how much that has changed over 10 years or Solidworks.

Did you work on the first version of Fusion 360?

If you compare Fusion 360 then and now you will see why software needs developing.

I have not worked with any CAD-Software that did not have any bugs. These softwares are complicated things.

I cant wait to see what the next update will bring, but we are all different.

What kind of bugs do you feel the software has now?

And C:/ is pretty much standard, it where Program files hang around and nowadays that should not be a problem because hard drives are pretty big.

Regards

Lennart

Sure, I understand each software need to move forward.

But we have some jobs, right? We are using these tools on daily basis. Imagine you have perfectly working version, which satisfies all your needs. And you can peacefully work with it. But update came. And you have to deal with bugs, new features... I mean, why updates are mandatory? If someone wants to try new version, ok, just install it. But I would rather keep tested and working thing.

Actually, I cant create 2D drawing for manufacturer. Because of some hcreg16 error, it even cant say where the file is missing. I have it, but I do not know where to copy.

Lets understand we are not using this as a toy. I paid three year licence, because I need it for work. I am not tester. I do not want to test what programmers failed in. I just wasted two hours of my time.

Fortunately, after reading other threads, I can confirm windows updates fixed this. I cant tell which one particularly did, because had not time to do it by one. Did it in bulk. Still, wasted 5 hours.

It would be great, if Fusion updates were not rolled out as mandatory, but optional. Although I understand enthusiasts and hobby makers are hungry for new features, but honestly, I would rather stick to functional version and have the confidence that when I open Fusion tomorrow and in future, it will work just like it did before.
