After derived part gets updated it gets removed

So I am creating these assemblies from derived parts and their sub-assemblies.

Sometimes when I update the derived part in the assembly it gets removed. Editing the derived part feature in the history tree allows to reselect it, however it messes up all the joint related to the part because of missing reference.

Because of this I need to delete the joints and redo them (basically redoing the whole assembly).

If I could change the missing reference manually that would make it slightly less bothersome, however it seems I cannot select it or delete it (is it a bug or just not intended?). It happened when v9 part was updated to v10 part, but it might have just been a coincidence.

Have you used Save As to make copies of any of the designs you've derived into your assembly? There was a bug in the past where copies of designs had the same IDs so inserting an original design and a copy caused conflicts. If you are making a copy of a design you might use for insert or derive you should use Save Copy As, this create a new unique design with new IDs for all the geometry it contains.

Thank you, I had some parts that I saved in that way to make mirrored components.
