Admin privileges to open Fusion 360

I installed Fusion 360 for education on school lab desktops. When students want to open this software a pop-up to ask for administrator privileges appears. Students don't have this.

Right click "run as administrator" or UAC off is not a solution.

What can I do to solve this problem?

Did you run a lab install?

If not, you'll need to follow these steps to have all users be able to run Fusion, not just the admin.

I followed every step to install  fusion in lab environment.

When installed, Fusion want launch unless I use right click "run as administrator". This works with an adminaccount, but not with a student account.

So I also looked for the solutions on https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Fusio...

- stopped virusscanner

- allowed fusion through firewall

- no proxy is used, so no troubles here

- I ensured that all users have all privileges on "C:\Program Files\Autodesk" and all submaps.

- ...

The problem still isn't solved. I tried everything and am now a bit desperate.

Those are all good troubleshooting steps. Are you sure you installed the correct version of Fusion? There are two versions - one is for personal use so would require admin use, and there is the lab version that should allow student access.

I also found this article which looks more like the process I went through to setup my lab when I worked in a school.

Did you run the .exe from the command line? I would read through this page and decide which one is best for you. I used the all-users self contained, but the drawback on that one is that you have to manually update each seat. The web-sourced might be better, but it notes that it uses a higher amount of network traffic at times.

Let me know how it goes. I recommend uninstalling and trying again using the instructions I linked. Also, you might install from a student account and not the admin account (entering the password as needed).

I'd ran into the same problem, but used process monitor to find out where it went wrong.

In my case there was an "Access Denied" on the folder: c:\ProgramData\Autodesk.
When i gave the group Users write and change rights, the program started.
