adding 'grain' to surfaces

I would like to add some 3D 'grain' like surface finish to my part.  This particular part has multiple surfaces, with radius'd edges, and of course I would like the same 3D 'grain' on all surfaces/edges.  Any leads appreciated.

Is this for visual representation only or does it need to be actual geometry to be represented in a 3D print (for example)?

Fusion 360 does not natively support displacement mapping. However, I believe there is some functionality in Autodesk Meshmixer for this.

MM cannot do this, however Blender is very good at this.

Agreed, and I would have suggested it as well. But getting displacement mapping to work on imported geometry is not a beginner project. You might have to re-mesh it and that alone can be a challenge.
