Add Sheet Metal Part to Drawing Parts List

Hello everyone.

As I understand it, sheet metal bodies cannot be added to other components/ turned into a component.

When I have a sheet metal body in an assembly drawing, how can I add it to the parts list?

To answer my own question:

I think the best way is to derive the sheet metal body into a new design, save it, then re-insert it into the original assembly file, now as a component which can be added to a drawing parts list

This doesnt work anymore, it creates a 'circular reference' and doesn't allow the derived version to be inserted into the original design. You have to go into the Derived model > copy/paste the derived body (make another copy) > delete original derived body (break the link & remove it) > save file and that should work. You can then insert it into the original design and it should show as a solid body used within parts list.
