Add-In SimIdealizations missing

When I start Fusion 360 on macOS Big Sur I get an error message about a missing add-in named SimIdealizations.

After confirmation Fusion 360 loads but crashes if I try to use the CAM functions. Have tried to do a clean reinstall of Fusion 360 but it doesn't work. Any ideas?

Hi,

Thanks for reporting. This is definitely related to manufacturing workflows.

Did you do a full clean uninstall, or just used Remove Fusion 360 tool?

Can you share a screenshot of the error regarding SimIdealizations? This isn't related to machine simulation, but to the general structure of the manufacturing environment.

Thanks,

  Jeff

I used the Remove Autodesk Fusion 360 tool. I tried the cleaner tool but couldn't get it to run properly. (https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How...)

Here's the screenshot. Doesn't say much, to me at least.

Right, not very helpful, is it?

I'm suspecting some sort of missing dependency on your system.

For what it's worth, we've been running for months with Big Sur without such issues, so it's definitely something specific to your environment.

We're still trying to figure out what may be happening here.

@linus_torngren There are manual clean uninstall steps if the automatic method isn't working.

The manual clean reinstall seems to have solved the issue! Thank you for the help.
