Active Component Created Automatically When New Design is Created

I've been having a problem recently. As soon as I start a new design, an active component is created even when there are no solids. Since it's active and it's the only thing in the design, I can't get out of it and everything has that translucent, wireframe look. I've gone into Preferences>Design and turned off "Active Component Visibility" and my opacity is at 100%. Is there a way that I can fix this?

Thanks for your help! I'm new to the forum, so if there is something more you need from me, let me know!

Hi,

1. each design starts with an active component (Unsaved)
2. Check your Display settings

3. The setting in the preferences means that only the active component ( Black DOT) is displayed "fully" and the others with reduced visibility.

At the bottom of your screen go to display settings/visual style and select shaded.
