A question about File and Folder name and location editing.

Using the Open command from the Fusion Files tab I proceeded to open an existing file and noticed a misspelled word in the file name. I subsequently right clicked expecting to rename the file, but right click didn't do anything. Hmm, maybe some other key/click sequence. Nope, nothing. Subsequently I found a Fusion help about changing file names from within the (9 dot) Data Panel.

Within Data Panel I was able to rename the file, but I further decided to move the folder for this file to a new location. Hmm, looks like I cannot move a folder from within Data Panel. Subsequently I found a Fusion help for moving folders within the Fusion Hub website.

I navigate to Fusion Hub and I find can move the folder.

If this is how it is, so be it, but I'd like the convenience of being able to rename and move files and folders at all of these places. Am I overlooking something?

You are right,

  • you can rename and move a file from the Data panel
  • you can only rename a folder from the Data panel. For moving the whole Folder, you'll need to jump to Fusion Team web interface
  • I can't promise a date, but soon we are going to release a new Data navigation UI within the desktop app which will allow you to do everything within the desktop app itself. Thank you for your patience and support.

Thanks for confirming that I'm not overlooking something and I look forward to easier file and folder management.
