3D spacemouse randomly stops working

Macbook pro, Apple M2 max, sonoma.

Issue: when starting a sketch the 3D spacemouse stops working. I then have to close down fusion, stop and restart the 3D connexion program and restart Fusion for it to start working again.

This sometimes happens 10 times in an hour and other times i can work for days without any issues, you can see when it happens if i open a sketch and it has a small lag/glitch then the spacemouse stops working.

Using the latest driver from 3D Connexion.

This has happened with 2 different spacemouses, imo ruling out a hardware problem, not sure if the issue lays within Fusion of within 3D connexion.

Any solution available?

Hi,

The “latest” setting is known to be problematic.
Since I have set the driver selection for the Space mouse to “legacy” in the preferences, there are no more problems.

Thank you for the reply, I had a look through the 3D connexion control program but couldn't seem to find this option, where exactly is it located?

Thanks, was looking in the spacemouse program not the fusion preferences. Fingers crossed, will report back if it solves the issue for me.

I also recommend that you

every morning or at the first sign of trouble.

Unfortunately the problem still persists, when i set the driver selection to 'legacy' the space mouse stops working altogether.

Hi,

Space mice should always be connected directly to a USB port on the computer and not via a hub.

Reluctantly positive, been working for 2 days with the space mouse connected directly to my macbook instead of via a hub and no more issues. Fingers crossed, will report back in a couple of weeks if the problem is resolved or not.

Thank you, Christof.

Been a week now without the spacemouse stopping to work, seems like using it through a hub was the issue, thank your for the solution.
