3D space mouse not working when 3D and 2D Drawing files opened at the same time

There is some strange behaviour of the 3D mouse in Fusion:

When only 3D model files opened:

3D space mouse in modeling environment works mostly good.

Sometimes when it is not catching focus have to temporarily select an item in the model tree (part, sketch, plane, etc) and after doing that the focus stays and 3D mouse works.

When 3D and 2D file openend:

However as soon as there is a 2D drawing file open in conjunction with a 3D model file the behaviour changes:

In 2D file Spacemouse works.

Switching to 3D file looses focus of 3D mouse.

While an item is actively selected in the model tree, 3D mouse works.

As soon as item in model tree is unselected, 3D mouse does not work / looses focus again. (and appears to switch focus to the 2D file in the background)

EDIT:

just to clarify, this is not new behaviour after any updates.

At the moment i am generating a lot of drawings so running into this problem more often.

Hi @PG.Eng2, thanks for your report - I will look into this.

Would you please confirm the model and driver version of your Spacemouse?

Hello, thank you for looking into it.

I have both a "3DConnexxion Spacepilot Pro (FW:4.11)" on a desktop and a "3DConnexxion Space Navigator" on a laptop. Both exhibit the same behaviour in Fusion 360.

Driver version for the desktop is:

3DxWare 10 version 10.4.8

3DxWinCore version 17.4.8.13569

Driver version of the laptop I would have to look up at a later time.

@PG.Eng2 I am unable to reproduce this behavior as described, but I am using 3DxWare 10.6.7 and Core 17.6.7 (actually, I see 10.7 is available, so thanks for that!) on a SpaceNavigator FW 3.18.

My first suggestion would be to update the SpaceMouse drivers and see if the issue persists. I additionally, I assumed you meant Windows 10 in this case, but in hindsight you didn't specify - please let me know if this is not the case.

If it still persists, please record it using Autodesk Screencast or a screen recorder of your choice and link it here.

Well, just installed the last revision of the drivers (10.7) and this seems to have done it.

Did not expect this to be a driver issue since I installed them last time around January but glad it seems to be solved.
