3D printing, Positioning bodies independently

I have a design containing multiple bodies that I would like to 3D print using manufacture.  

I can print single items like a champ.

BUT....

When I want to print parts designed together it's a horse of another color.

I cannot move the bodies independently from each other.  This is the second design I have had this problem with.  I did some copy/pasting for the last one and figured I'd find the solution between then and now.  No dice.

Am I modeling wrong or is there a secret to this I don't know and cannot seem to find a solution when I search.
