3D Connexion Space Mouse toggle not working

Anonymous

3D Connexion Space Mouse toggle stopped working correctly.

All I am able to do is move:
left
right
in
out
down
up

Axis mapping are all set correctly. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, though this has not helped.

Also, the "Calibrate" and "Install Plug-ins" tab in "Tools" does not work.

Does anyone have experience on how to overcome this?

Thanks in advance

Replying in case you get any help.

Mine has never worked properly.  Zoom pans and Y axis pan zooms instead, both in reverse half the time.  X axis pan works ok.  It is incredibly frustrating.  Autodesk just doesn't seem to care either.

Works fine on my machine.

Are you on Windows or on Mac OS?

What version of the 3DConnexion driver are you running?

Both Windows and Mac.  Currently at home on a mac.  I have the latest driver for my very old space navigator.  It works fine with my other software.....

Meh.  It's too old to work with my new laptop so I bought a new one.  Hopefully that will fix things, I guess I'll find out when it gets here.

Running macOS Catalina version 10.15.4

Fusion 360 version 2.0.8335

3D Connexions 3DxWare 10 for macOS 10.6.5

I cannot work out why the toggle functions would stop working and while some do? I have uninstalled F360 and 3d connexions numerous times with no luck.

I ordered the new space mouse/ cad mouse kit but it got delayed in shipping.  I'll update when I can try them out.

New Space mouse/ CAD mouse combo came in finally and everything works fine now.  Yay!! Now if I could only figure out how I want to map the extra buttons on the CAD mouse....

Hi Tony

To map buttons, you will need the correct drivers https://www.3dconnexion.co.uk/service/drivers.html

Then, if your on a mac, there is pane in the bottom left corner of system preferences.

I'm keen to hear if you have the same issues as I do?

At last Ive found it and all working fine again! Not sure how the setting changed in the first instance but hay ho.

I have attached a screenshot of where the setting are in preferences, but also described below:

Systems Preference;

Buttons;

Buttons Rotations ON/Off set to "Show Pop up menu"

Return to Fusion 360

Click "Buttons Rotations ON/Off"

A pop up up menu appears, select Buttons Rotations ON/Off (a tick confirms the feature is on).

Would make sense if this was selectable within preferences, rather than a pop up in F360. Or, maybe its me being daft, I am new to Autodesk.

Hope that helps you guys.

I know how to map them, I'm just not sure what I want to map them to right now. I use multiple programs that have conflicting button/ movement setups.  (Looking at you Autodesk and Fusion team)

I don't have the same button popup thing you have, but I think it's because you have a pro and I only have the smaller one.  I'll probably add a pro or enterprise when I get my new workstation setup figured out.

Good info, Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous

I have just done a clean install of fusion and 3D connection software on my Mac it home. On first use I am having the same issue you were (using a new Compact space mouse) but for the life of me I can’t find the setting you were playing with (plus I can’t see a screenshot).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Euan

I forgot to attach the screen shots! Please see attached screenshots 1 - 3, the 4th screen shot I have to send on a separate message, please look out for it after this message. Then follow as below looking at the screen shots.

1. Click 3Dconnexion pane in Mac system preferences.

2. Select spacemouse pro, tick the toggle as dominant.

3. Click the "buttons" tab, select the same mapping and command features.

4. Go back to Fusion 360, press the "buttons rotations on/off" button on the space mouse (its the centre button of the five buttons to the right side of the toggle), a pop up window appears, tick all 3.

You should now have full 2d and 3d movements with the toggle.

Hope that works for you!
