2D Contour unable to create a reasonable toolpath on my geometry, and I'm not sure how to fix it.

I created the parts in Design and arranged them in the Manufacturing space. I've had no trouble getting toolpaths to work as expected on all the other parts, but these two are behaving strangely. I've tried recreating the parts but that didn't work. I arranged the parts with plenty of space between them so I can't figure out what the problem is, though it mentions lead-in/out parameters in the warning message. It seems like the geometry isn't registering as a piece with a distinct contour or something. Can anyone take a look and see what they see?

Take a look at the Screencast where I added a 2D Contour for the half moon shapes.  I only looked at the geometry creation, I will leave all other settings up to you.  I will not return your model as it is a linked file and I am not sure if you know how to handle it.

You may be right that I don't know how to handle a linked file, since I'm not sure what that means.

Your interface seems to function differently than mine, what did you do there to choose the contours?

I've figured out that the "Select Other" menu will help me (the one that popped up when you left clicked (and presumably held) on the face I want to contour. However, I cannot get that menu to pop up while selecting unless I'm selecting edges while trying to make a contour. Did you have to do anything specific to make that menu pop up in the context of creating a 2d contour? I can get it to show up while outside of that dialog but not within it.

In the Screencast, I hover over the top face of each of the bodies and held down my left mouse button to get the selection menu.  This allows me to select the bottom face of the body giving me the contour edge, around it, I want.  This is just a time saving method, if you need to turn the model over to select the bottom face, do so.  Just remember to select the face and not the edges so all the edges are picked up automatically at once.

To explain a Linked Assembly file which is what you attach to your post with a F3Z extension.  This is an assembly that contains files that you Inserted from a external source.  You will notice the chain link in from of the file in the Browser.  If you do not know how to "receive" a linked file, it may be difficult for you, that is why I did not send it.

Ah, understood about the linked file. I've worked with files that contain references a good bit but haven't traded them. I bet I could figure it out.

Either way I still have the same issue because that menu doesn't come up when I left click and hold. We'll see if a weekend of rest will allow the computer to act as expected.
