2d Adaptive Clearing No Longer Working

2d Adaptive Clearing No Longer Working

I have been using 2d Adaptive to rough out the back inside jaws of specialty pliers. All of a sudden, today it no longer works for that and is giving me an insane amount of trouble just trying to do something I've been doing in Fusion for almost 2 years now. This is extremely frustrating and causing a great amount of wholly unnecessary costs to my company. What is the issue and how do I have to use this operation now?

it says "Unsupported geometry for 2D Open Pocket detection"

Okay, except that I've already run this part numerous times without this issue, so it appears the only logical cause has something to do with a Fusion update.

I've uploaded the file where it is not working (Q-7472) and a similar file where it is (907-88c b).

I read another thread about certain contours in the pocket being a possible issue, which could be a helpful tip if this file didn't already work countless times before today. The only change has been in Fusion's updates.

Well, drat. We did field a similar issue this morning for another customer, I was hoping against hope) that it was a solitary event. Your thread dispels that fanciful notion. I'll take a look at both files and see what I can find out.

In the meanwhile, a sketch and 3D Adaptive will be pretty much your best workaround

On the "not working" file, I was able to make an alternate selection with the toolpath:

I still think there's a bug at play, so your file does give me one more data point

I feel a bit silly for not realizing it was because the model (drawn with a bit too much detail IMO) had a radius on an edge that was causing issues when I chose the plain and not the alternate geometry you chose. Thank you for the help. I just signed up for the forums and couldn't find this post until now.
