Currently, the "Save as Mesh" dialog and the similar "3D Print" dialog have a deceptive "Selection" box that seems to suggest that you can multi-select multiple bodies or componets to save or print as a single STL.

Indeed, as soon as 1 item is selected, the box says "1 selected" suggestijng that one can continue to click other items to add them to the selection, just like with nearly every other similar selection in the Fusion360 GUI. Instead, very illogically, when you click on a second object, the first item is *deselected* and replaced with the first.

The only way to print multiple separate components or bodies seems to be to make invisible everything but waht you want to print and then select the top level component that contains the visible remaining items that then get converted to an STL.

This is very *laborious* and brain-dead when you have a design with potentially hundreds of bodies and components but you only want to save/print a couple of them -- requiring you to deselect and make invisible all the rest. The intuitive UI would be to just select what you *want* to save or print.

This shouldn't be a hard enhancement and should be required if just for consistency, let alone ease-of-use...

In your assembly, containing multiple components or bodies, you can right click on the top level and select Save as Mesh and export the assembly as one STL OR each component or body as a separate file.  This is shown in the video.

As I mentioned pretty clearly in my original post, I know that you can manually either save/print each body/component individually or you can export an entire assembly of components/bodies after you have made the subbodies/subcomponents that you don't want invisible.

HOWEVER, as I mentioned, that is both *laborious* and *inconsistent* with the UI.
Why should I need to either manually save/print each body/component separately or alternatively deselect all the ones I *don't* want when the obvious GUI would be to just multi-select the bodies & components I want to print.

If you want to select the Components and Bodies from the Browser, then do so.  Then right click on one of them and choose Isolate.  This will give turn off all the rest, then you can run the routine mentioned before.  I feel one extra command is a small concession to get EXACTLY the STLs you want.

That's not bad -- I wasn't aware of isolate...

But while it's only one extra command, you still need to undo the isolate to turn everything back on though I guess I can just do Ctl-Z.
So together with "Selection Sets", this will surely shorten my workload.

So it's a viable solution.
Though I still think from a GUI consistency and workflow streamining perspective, the right answer would be to allow multi-select right from the dialog box.
