won't display selection's measurement in lower right corner

Hi,

I use to be able to select a line/face/shape etc and fusion would display it's measurement or diameter in the lower right corner. Not any more, I can't get it back.

Now I have to go into the inspection menu to get any measurements.

Is there a way to re enable this feature? is this a bug?

Hey @grascochon try these:

  • Verify that the preference is checked as active.
    • (General - show detail measure)
  • File - view - Reset to default layout.

Cheers,

Karina

The last update seems to have altered/broken/removed some things I use a lot in my work flow, which slows down productivity. One of the things is what you posted about, the dimensions in the lower right hand corner.  It actually still kind of works, but it's clumsy in my opinion. I need to double and triple click on the entity to toggle through information displays (what layer or object the feature is part of and a dimension), and it only seems to work sometimes. Three steps forward and two backwards.

I noticed this also as it is a super handy feature. As a work around, I found if I go from full window screen to a slight partial window, then drag the window a little to the left it starts working. Glad to hear it's a bug as I thought maybe it had something to do with my graphics card at full screen.

Still after all these years it's not fixed. Seriously buggy software for the price we pay for it. Considering Shapr3D for when our plan expires.

@jasonu3w

This is an old thread and may not be relevant anymore. Can you share info on what you're seeing? Does it only happen when the window is full screen/not full screen? Is it file specific?

Cheers,

Karina

@karina.harper I don't know what other users were seeing, but for me it partially appears like this which doesn't allow me to read the full measurement:

With some further troubleshooting it looks like this only happens when I am using multiple monitors connected to my laptop. And it also only occurs on the monitor that is directly left of the higher resolution laptop screen. Set up like this, it only occurs on monitor 2:

But when I moved screen 1 to be in the middle it occurred on screen 3 and not 2 anymore.

The monitor screen resolution is 1680x1050 and the issue only occurs when the width of the window is greater than about 1570 (which includes full screen). The issue does not show up on the laptop screen (1920x1200). Super weird little issue and maybe its something to do with my specific hardware, but at least while I was troubleshooting I found that I can just use my other monitor to avoid the issue completely. Would love to know if this is repeatable by anyone else!

How would it not be relevant? The fact that this still happens, 4 years later is telling.
This is seriously the most unstable piece of software I've ever used. Almost everytime I use it, it will crash or require restart, or freeze for minutes before I'm able to use it.
We have two machines and I've been through a couple of new computers and it always been the same. Anyway, vague complaints will not help, i know. I'll not be renewing our seats though.
Regarding this particular issue, it remains. I do also have multiple monitors but it occurs on my main monitor.

This requirement was mentioned in Message 2 of this Forum Post but it bears repeating.  To see the measure readout in the lower right hand corner of the screen you must have the following box checked.

Thank you @lucas_carey - that's helpful. I'll try and reproduce that behavior.

@jasonu3w by "not relevant", I mean that the problem originally reported in 2021 by grascochon was likely a bug that has already been fixed. There are several display-measure-related bugs that I see in our backlog that have been fixed since then (4 years ago). If this is something you are seeing today, we need more information to isolate and troubleshoot or fix it. If checking the preference doesn't help, you're welcome to create a new thread and tag me in it and we can take a look.

Cheers,

Karina
