In the German forum it was described that the window selection of body edges is not possible.
Since I work with the English interface, I could find out that this error does not occur here.
A short test showed the error also with the French UI.
Maybe users of the other UI's* can check the behaviour once and report back.

I tried all the languages and it looks like only English allows this kind of selection. I'm not sure why language would affect selection like this, but hopefully it's a quick and safe fix. There is no evidence this is as-design for any technical reasons.
