Why Two Splash Screens..?

Technically, the black modal dialog that appears before the app frame is the splash screen, while the white background within the app frame is the loading screen.

I understand that they feel pretty redundant right now. In a future release, we will be adding status text to both of these screens to give users more information about what is actually happening behind the scenes (especially should something go wrong, so support knows which step failed).

Thank you for your excellent explanation. Maybe the loading screen could appear identical to the the splash screen?

I happen to already be looking into that! The loading screen is a bit blinding.
