Why Fusion ask if edge or face all the time when selecting edges for fillet?

I used to select several edges for fillet just clicking in the edges. Lately Fusion ask me all the time if edge or face. Used to be very easy to make this selections but now is a nightmare! What the reason of this behavior? There are any configuration I can change to behavior like in the past?

Thank you!

Fusion has added the ability to select multiple edges, at one time, by selecting just one face or multiple faces.  You can elect to take the time to select all the edges but the face makes the job so much easier.  There is no configuration you can change to stop this ability, you have just the control of your selection.  In the Animated GIF I demonstrate this face selection feature.  Of course, one users dream feature is possibly someone else's nightmare.

By the way, if you do not want to fillet the hole edges, just move your timeline back before the hole, fillet by selecting face, then drag your timeline back.

Looks like for selection all those edges is a big improvement but made more complex when selecting specific ones. Would be nice have an option to turn it on or off. Thank for the information!

If you have trouble selecting edges and excluding faces, use the Select Edge Priority command.  Just remember to reset it next time you want to select another type of feature.  If you add these command to your toolbar, as you can see I did, they will reset automatically when your remove the select check.

On second thought I wonder if this new feature is implemented correctly. Because I select an edge, this edge is highlighted but then the window box shows up asking me if I want Edge or Face. If I selected an edge I want an edge! If I want I face I would selected a face not an edge. Why ask if what is selected and highlighted is an edge?

I suspect that that "box" you are seeing is Select Other (hard to say without any additional info - screen shot, video) - it lets you select things that are behind the item directly under the cursor, or select other adjacent items (like a face or edge) that might not be easy to select.  It only comes up on a "long" (~.5 sec) click.  Try just a single, short click vs a long click.

This is not "new" in any way.  Select Other has been around for 10+ years, face selection in fillet for at least 3 years.

I do not see what you are referring to.  In my animated GIF below, I see no mention of edge or face during my two picks.  Record a video of what you are seeing.

I notice this behavior about two weeks ago. Maybe my installation become faulty. Today I was selection edges for fillet and once this selection window appears with just one option: edge. Makes no senso to me a windows with only one option. I don't have any software for record video but I will try a screen capture.

"...or select other adjacent items (like a face or edge) that might not be easy to select."

But since the edge is already highlighted there is no doubt about what is selected.

Let me try to get some screen shots.

Here one example. I'm in Chamfer selection mode and I selected this edge, the edge became highlighted and there is no doubt about what I selected. Why the need to go an extra step and select the edge or faces option? If I have selected one face it would be highlighted! There is no edges behind this selection.

Yes, that is Select Other.  It should not come up unless you do a "long click" (that is: hold down the left mouse button for a half second).  No one else has reported Select Other coming up without a long click.  You might have a hardware problem with your mouse (or whatever you use for graphical input).
