Why does the data panel require double clicking?

The fusion 360 data panel is just a list of projects, folders and design files. The tiles are effectively buttons. Why not use single click to open an item?
In addition, more actions (the right click context menu) is not obvious or easily discoverable. Read-only dropdown and the version dropdown are very visible. Maybe giving each tile a "hamburger" button to indicate that there is a menu of operations could be added.
Even better, would be to make the data panel a full featured file manager that works similar to the Windows file manager.
The data panel/file manager should also be un-dockable. It already looks like a separate application from Fusion 360. It has a separate "user menu".
Strangely, the data panel shows my name. The profile icon for Fusion 360 is a generic profile icon. The online file manager shows the profile from my Autodesk profile.
The community forums, where I am currently also just shows a generic profile icon.
This inconsistency is not good for users.
