Why can't I upload my CSV file?

This may not be the right place to ask this question, but I am trying to invite a number of students to Fusion 360 (I am an educator and already have verified my own access) and cannot upload the CSV file and so cannot invite students. I don't get an error, just nothing happens when I click on "upload CSV." Getting students logged into Fusion seems to be unnecessarily difficult. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it!

Hi Rachel,

Thanks for posting and sorry for the difficulty in inviting your students to access Fusion 360.

When you attempt to add users via Autodesk Account, does the CSV you're uploading follow the format exactly as shown in the "Import to assign" dialog? Here are the row header names you should use:

First name

Last name

E-mail address

And here are some screenshots of the expected experience, based on a test I just did:

After the above "Importing..." step completes, you should see the names of your students appear in the list under "Assigned users."

Does this help?

Hi,

The same problem happens to me, not with Fusion but ACC.

I attached the .CSV file.

Hi @peter.petschek,

Thanks for sharing your CSV file. You are missing the header row.

Here are the row header names you need to use:

First name

Last name

E-mail address

Please add the header row exactly as shown, and give it another shot.

I'd also recommend removing your CSV file from your forum post since it contains names and email addresses, and is publicly accessible.

Regards,

Gabe

Hi @peter.petschek,

I'm not sure what's wrong with the file, but I did a test simply resaving the document as a .CSV from within Excel and it imported successfully.

Before that, I got the same error as you with the version of the doc you uploaded.

Could you please try resaving the doc or recreating it?

Phil Müller from the Autodesk education team in Munich found the problem:

The problem are the country versions of Excel.

For example if you use the German verison, Exchel changes something ..., we don't know.

The CSV file is not correct and you receive an error.

How can you solve it:

Use Google Sheets, import the .xlsx file.

Convert it in a .csv with comma.

Now manage.autodesk.com give you no longer an error message.

Hello,

I have the same issue. I followed the instructions (header names, CSV-file format), but I still get the error message.

I switched Browsers from Firefox to Chrome and it worked. So, if you are using Firefox, you will get the error.
