What is the ghost image after saving in form tool?

Hi,

Maybe others are having this problem, when ever I save a Form model. I get a "ghost image" of the object and I hit various buttons to bring it back. I'm new to Fusion 360, could some developer explain what is going on? Is this "Ghosting" normal?   I wish to bring the image/model back after saving it -checking a mating surface that needs to be altered in my form model.

Thanks,

John

@Anonymous - not sure what you mean by "save a Form model".  Do you mean the ghost you see while editing a Form feature?

what this is is the ghost of the last version of the Form when converted to a solid.  The idea is to help you see what changes you have made to the form during this edit session.  You can control whether you see this here:

Thanks Jeff  for your Answer. I still have one more question, Can the form model that is turned into a solid - return to a form model without changing timeline?  I presume it is currently a one way change - form to solid ( am I correct?)

Thanks, John

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by "without changing the timeline".  You can, indeed, edit the Form feature, make changes to the form and then exit Form mode, and it will re-convert to a new solid:

Sorry to confuse.  Can a form converted to a solid - be converted back to a form again? I thought it was a one  way conversion. please explain the step by step process.

The short answer is no.  You can always create a solid from a Form feature (assuming it is closed, and not self-intersecting, etc).  But you cannot convert a solid into a Form.  What I showed above is editing the original Form, making a change, and having that modified form re-converted into a solid.  This works in the parametric design environment.
