Warning: "Failed to get owner occurrence transform"

This warning occurs when trying to use the SplitFace tool on a surface in a component. The splitting tool in this case is a line projected to the surface earlier in the timeline within the parent design, before the component was created.

Despite the warning, the split often works and I am then able to push-pull the sub-divided surface without issues.

Other times, I get a red failure, see attached screen captures.

Screencast: https://autode.sk/3tTHmwN

In the attached design file, the affected component and body are both named "Hull F5-F6". In the parent design, the sketch whose curves I am trying to use to split the surface is named "C-Deck Support Line Projections".

Others have posted about this error but respondents all refer to using "Copy/Paste New" which doesn't apply to me. I can't find an accurate description of what this warning means.

Any help much appreciated.

good to hear from you again, @TheModelBoatGuy .  Well, not exactly "good", I suppose, given the circumstances.  I think you have found a bug.  It seems to have to do with the "along vector" option in Split Face.  I found that if I use "with surface" that it works OK.  And, in this case, at least, I think the result is the same, since the sketch normal is used, and this sketch's normal is in the same direction as the Z axis.  This might at least get you progressing again.

[edit] Fusion bug is FUS-78692

Bumping this topic as I'm dealing with this same bug 4 years later - would be nice to get it fixed.

For anyone else who runs into this, I'll add the comment that changing the split type from "along vector" to "with surface" in an existing split face feature that had this error didn't fix it - I had to delete that Split Face feature and create a new one. Also, surprisingly, I was able to use a line in a sketch as the geometry for the "with surface" split face - didn't think that would work but it did for some reason, despite not being a surface...
