Using one body to stamp another with the split tool, stuck.

I thought I could easily create a slope for my vanity sink with a slot that could be used as a splitting tool to cut the shape out of the sink bottom, but when I split and cut, nothing seems to be removed from the target body.

Perhaps someone can shed some light on what I'm doing wrong.  Thanks.

Maybe a better idea would be to make your sloping bottom a surface and use the Replace Face command.  If you attach your model to your post, others may be able to help you faster.

Following your way, I've "filled" the sink sketch with faces and stitched them to a cutting body.
