User Parameters in Circular Patterns Not Updating

I have a bit of a problem. I'm trying to use User Parameters to define the number of features in a circular pattern. I can do that initially. However, if I then change the User Parameter, it doesn't update the number of features. The User Parameter is unitless, so that isn't the problem.

When I go to look at the pattern in my timeline, it just shows the resolved User Parameter (the value at the time I created the pattern), and not the name of it anymore. Is this a bug, or is there just something I'm not doing right? This has been the case on multiple projects whenever I used User Parameters to define the number of features in a circular pattern.

I'm using the latest release of the Mac version of Fusion 360 (2.0.3033).

Thanks!

Hi @Snortimer

Thank you for posting! I'm sorry you are experiencing this issue.

I tried to reproduce your issue, but I was unable to reproduce it. Smiley Sad

Would you mind sharing your model to identify? This is how to share it, and my email address is "ahreum.ryu@autodesk.com"

Does it happen after updating Fusion 360 up to date?

I look forward to your reply

Many thanks,

Ahreum.

Oops! I just got this today!

I've still got the same problem, and I recoded a little screen capture video to illustrate it. I'm also attaching the project (though this has been an issue with multiple projects - any time I tried to use this feature).

Hey @Snortimer,

Sorry about this problem. I played around with your part for awhile until I realized what was going on. It appears the pattern will not recognize the number of instances updating from a constant number to a user defined parameter if the user defined parameter is the same number as the original number of instances. Since that's confusing, I went ahead and made a video that you can check out below and let me know if that solves your problem.

Thanks!

Wow! Thank you!

I didn't even think about trying to change the value to something incorrect before applying my parameter to it. That'll work great as a workaround until the bug's fixed.

Thanks again!

Hi @lucasproko ,

Having the same issue, but the work around is also not working. The circular pattern does not remember any edit changes to either the suppress check box or any parameters entered into the "Total Angle" field.  The value itself of the parameter is entered, but is not linked to the actual parameter - so just like this error, the circular pattern is then not updatable with parameter changes.

Any update on bug fixes, or other work-arounds?

Thank you.
