User parameter not working

I have a part that has a bunch of user parameters in it. One component that worked fine previously is a angle that is extruded and that length is a user parameter. The part is there and has a length, but when I edit the extrude feature that creates this part the distance for the extrude is 0.00 this distance was originally a user parameter and now it wont even let me put in a parameter (just stays red and wont let me use it) I can not understand how I can even have a extruded part with 0 length? I need to get this fixed as I need this part modified and a drawing done to get out to my guys on the shop floor.

File attached. Component affected is top angle:1 in Angle frame:1 The odd thing is the side angle was created the same way, and it works just as expected with the parameter for it's length. This design was created a couple weeks ago and worked correctly then.

Thanks

Dave

Update:

After digging around It appears that one of my parameters is broken, I can use a different parameter in this part and it works but the existing parameter is broken and will not work even the formula is not working as setup in the parameter. So I'm guessing maybe a bug? I know fusion updated 1 time if not 2 times since this design was created.

@kltdave - this is certainly concerning.  I am looking into it, and will report back when I know more.  Thank you for the clear description and supplying the model.  Those things help immensely.

There is definitely something wrong with the "angle_w" parameter in this design.  Not sure at all how it got that way, so if you have any memory of how that happen, we'd appreciate it.  However, the problem can be fixed by just changing the value of that parameter temporarily to a constant (I chose a different value only because I have seen cases where changing the value won't really "take" if the evaluated value has not changed), then changing it back.  Seems to be OK after that.  Very weird.  Will file a bug on that one.

[edit] the Fusion bug is FUS-51330

Jeff,

What I discovered after playing around with the perimeters is this:

The Actual problem lies with the Frame_w parameter that the angle_w is using in the expression. It appears that for some reason Fusion is not recognizing the fractional value correctly because if I just delete the expression and re enter it it all works again.

There were no changes made to this design that would cause it and I do believe it is a bug of some sort involving the back end conversion or recognition of the fractional expression input in the Frame_w parameter. The really strange part is there are other perimeters that use the same fractional expression and they all work fine.

Thanks for looking into this but for now I am up and running as all i did was go through (there are a bunch of these frames that are all copies of this one) and re entered the value in all my designs and it is working again.

Thanks

Dave

Hi there,

@jeff_strater  I don't if the issue was similar to one which I have, but parameters which are calculated in degrees cannot be used in sketches. There is simple example:

I have two parameters ConnectionAngle and AngleForYPositionCalc. The connectionAngle is a static value; AngleforYPositionCalc is calcluted using others values. If I want to use AngleForYPostionCalc, in my sketch, this size is marked red. If I entering simple ConnectionAngle, it works fine.

Please check these pictures:VaulesVaulesAngleForYPostionCalcAngleForYPostionCalcConnectionAngleConnectionAngle

Looks like it is a bug.

Hi,

I can't recreate this behavior with a sample I created myself.

Can you share this file?
