Uploading models from INV 2022 in a model state

Hello,

I'm wondering if Fusion has the ability to recognize INV model in a custom model state.  Specifically, I created a model state that has a separate body for my machining stock.  Prior to model states I would create a separate stock body and as long as I saved the .prt with the stock body on, it would upload to fusion with the stock and model bodies.  Now I'm taking advantage of the model state feature to create my stock because it's easier to manage on my drawing, but even if I save my .prt file in the "with stock" model state it is only uploading the master model state.

Fusion 360 does not see Inventor 2022 Model States.  Whatever the Inventor Model State you have saved in and then imported into Fusion 360 is what you will get.  So if you want to import various Inventor Model States into Fusion 360 you will have to import multiple saved model state versions.

Edit: So a guess the direct answer to your post is YES, Fusion 360 has the ability to recognize the current selected and saved Inventor Model State

Hi,  Thanks for the response.  I don't really want it to see different model states.  I actually want it to do as you describe and recognize the current save model state.  However, it only recognizes the master model state rather than the currently selected and saved state.

OK, I did figure out if you upload the .ipt to Fusion directly from INV, then open/translate the model in Fusion that the current model state is recognized.  This does not seem like a great solution as it generates redundant files in fusion having the .ipt and the fusion file.  Our workflow is to batch upload files from fusion after completing a design as well.  Hopefully a future update to Fusion will allow direct translation of the current saved model state.
