Unresponsive Data Panel on Mac

Running Fusion 360 on a Mac, I control-click in the Data Panel (rather than right-click) to access sub-menus under the models such as move, re-name, etc.  But there is no response from the menus.  Please see the short screencast (vid01.mov) for an example.  Thanks, in advance, for any clues you can give me to solve this...

Hi @martin.neunzert,

Welcome to the community!

Thank you for reporting.  I was able to recreate this behavior on my end - MBP Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014), macOS 10.13.5, Fusion R2.0.4285.  I've logged a bug with our development team to investigate this (internal reference ID: FUS-41498).  Once I hear back from the team, I will get back here to update!

I apologize for any inconveniences this may cause you - we appreciate you bringing this to our attention!

If you have any questions, please let me know!

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting this.

The menu that is flying out is actually the problem. It should not roll up the moment you move the mouse off of it. It should remain on screen and allow you to pick again. The intent is for two clicks to happen, one (RMB) and one (LMB) to pick an item from the folded out menu.

Please confirm this: Are you holding control + pressing down on the trackpad, and then sliding your finger to the menu item, and then lifting your finger when the mouse is on the item you want to select?

Try this*: pick the menu using control + tap/click. When it pops out, pick the item you want with another click.

*Testing your scenario I found the bug I mentioned at the top of my reply: sometimes the menu does not remain displayed. If this happens, pick something else in the data panel first, then right click on the thing you want.

Another workaround is to change your mac preferences to allow RMB actions in different ways. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Yes, control-click to open the fly-out menu, then releasing the control key does keep the menu open and ready for another click on the flyout choice. Problem solved!
