Unreliable Toolpath Generation, "An unhandled exception occured [sic] 0xffffffff"

With the most recent update I have noticed that toolpath generation is somewhat unreliable. 3D adaptive toolpaths with a ball end mill most frequently cause this issue for me.
I will make a toolpath that looks good and will work for my application. Then I make a minor update to prior toolpaths (for example most recently I changing a 3/8" ball EM to a 1/2" ball EM on a surfacing toolpath, something that should have no/minimal impact on the material that is removed). Upon re-generation of the toolpath that had earlier generated properly I get the following pop up:
And the toolpath has this error message on it:
"Error: An unhandled exception occured [sic] 0xffffffff"
When this error occurs with a 3D adaptive toolpath and a ball end mill I have been able to fix it by changing the toolholder model. I originally tried deleting it which fixed the issue, then the issue came up again later with that same exact toolpath and same tool that had the holder deleted. I added the holder back in and the issue was fixed again.
I have noticed this behavior across multiple different files and tools.
Unfortunately the parts I have noticed this with are for a client so I can not post them here. I am curious if anyone else has had similar behavior recently. Hopefully this is something that can be easily addressed in a future updated.
