I had a student version of Fusion360, needed an update but an update wouldn't work so I thought it would be easy enough to delete and reinstall but now I keep getting these error messages. As a product design student nearing the end of my 3rd year this is super inconvenient. I've attached the file log too if anyone has any advice!error.PNG

Hi @Anonymous ,

Please follow below steps:

  1. Delete the following folder
    • C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Webdeploy\
  2. Temporarily disable Antivirus & Firewall
  3. Try the installation again:

Let me know if this works.

Hi @Anonymous,

Sorry for the delayed response.

The log file shows your machine won't have enough permissions to install fusion 360.

Please follow THIS link to provide necessary permissions to install Fusion 360

All it took was to right-click the installation and run as administrator! Who knew it would be that easy

Hi @Anonymous ,

The problem was related to permission.

The error is happening when creating shortcuts. Fusion 360 install will create shortcut in

C:\Users\<user-id>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Autodesk and

C:\Users\<user-id>\Desktop .

Anyway, Fusion is running up with run as admin, Great!
