Unexpected behaviour creating loft

I am attempting to create a simple loft from two different sized chevron shaped profiles and am getting:

"Warning: The operation does not cause a meaningful shape change.
Try adjusting the values or changing the input geometry."

I have no problem creating the loft from the hexagons from which the chevrons are derived and other shapes but this one is defeating Fusion 360 for some unknown reason. Please advise.

Thanks. I hadn't tried surface loft. But I can't quite see how your loft from scratch is any different from how I did it. Why did yours work and mine failed? Is it just a bug in my system?

I discovered with your original file that the order of picking profiles makes a difference.

Would not believe it - but you told me,

Selecting the profiles from the same side of them, fails.  (Front side of both)

Selecting the profiles - inside of both - works.  Select inside the imaginary body.  (needed an orbit to get it)

Musta been a recent upgrade....
