Unable to open .f3d file (locally or uploaded) - "Update Fusion360 and try again"

Hello,

I have never dealt with .f3d files before, and I only have some basic working-level knowledge of Fusion360.

My attempt at opening such a file (a parametric, 3D-printable object from Printables) results in this error :

Setting aside the incredibly poorly written error message (no, I don't want to "try again", nor do I want to "ask my system administrator" about it because I am the system administrator), what is going on here ? Isn't Fusion360 supposed to be always checking for updates on startup and always be up to date ? But if not, then how do I force it to update in order for me to "try again" ? (Of course this is only assuming that an update would solve the issue - because since the error message is purely speculative it is actually of no help whatsoever...)

Also, how do I check if the software is currently set to online or offline mode ?

FWIW this file in question can be dowloaded here :

https://www.printables.com/fr/model/257560-konfigurierbare-box-incl-fusion-file-configurable-/files

Thank you for any help.

I am able to open "configurable_box v4.f3d" downloaded from this site.

I suspect the error message is correct.  Somehow, you have a too-old version of Fusion to read this design.  This is the version I used:

Check your notifications, to see whether there is a newer version to download.

Hello and thank you for trying to help.

The version info on my install states 2.0.12888. It was recently installed, in July, on a new workstation.

I am not seeing any notifications related to updates. Meaning that as mentioned earlier, if I want to figure out if this error message is of any relevance I would need to know of a way to force the application to update.

Is this install a school lab install?  (Can be set to not automatically update.)

Are you on Windows OS or on Mac? (I can explain how to force Update on Windows, but I am not familiar with Mac.)
