Unable to extend my education license on Fusion 360

I am at my wits end on this. My education license on Fusion 360 expires 12/16/2021. I have followed all the steps on the web and those given by "support" but am unable to renew my license. On a hunch, I downloaded AutoCad, and that product is good until 12/10/2022, so it recognized my education status. I don't care about AutoCad; I need Fusion. I have deleted Fusion, and reinstalled it several times, but it still states that the license expires in 6 days (as of 12/10/2021). Can ANYONE please help me get this resolved?

Here's what support told me to do, and this got me nowhere.

Please do the steps: 

1.Go to https://www.autodesk.com/education/edu-software/overview 

2.Sign in to your Autodesk account. You will reach "get products" page. 

3.Next go to the Autodesk product card(product you want to activate) you need and click "Get Product".  

4.Next, you will have to click install or download(no need to install or download again) just click anyone option). This will register a license to your account. 

5.Then you can launch the product which is already installed and the license will be updated.

If the Educational License Renewal works anything like the Personal License Renewal, and I suspect it does, then you do not want to try and renew it UNTIL the current license runs out.  With the Personal License, if you try to renew before it expires, every year just like the educational license, you will have nothing but trouble.
