Unable to export to STEP with hidden T-spline bodies in project

Recently it has become impossible to export to .STEP (or .IGES as far as I've tested) while having T-spline bodies in the document. They are hidden, I don't want the T-spline bodies to be exported, I just want the BRep bodies that I have, some of which are converted from T-spline bodies. This is extremely annoying, as this is something that started happening recently. I can still export to .USDZ without problems, but not .STEP/.IGES. The solution I've resorted to is to save the document, delete all the T-spline bodies, export to .STEP, then undo the deletion of the T-spline bodies. This is a very cumbersome and unnerving way to do it.

The error-message I get is:

"T-Spline bodies must be converted to be included in the exported document. Cancel and use the Convert command to include any T-spline bodies."

With the options "OK" or "Cancel", both of which do the same, and by the same I mean nothing. I would very much appreciate a button labeled "Export without T-Spline bodies" or something like that.

I'm working without Design History (Direct Modeling), don't know if that is relevant.

Just did a quick test and got the same warning you got but when I click OK the STP file is created.

Here you can see the body exported to Rhino. Are you Right clicking in the browser and selecting export or using export from the file menu? Seems like Export from the file menu fails but right clicking the top node in the browser and selecting export works.

Thanks! 🙂 That worked! I never knew about the "right click at the top of the browser"-way before now. Got the same error-message, but "OK" actually exported the file. This fixed it for me, but it still seems to be a bug that it won't do it from the File-menu, as such, is this considered "solved"?

just found this thread after a search, the fix described did work but given the simple workaround the fix should also be as easy. Would like to see this get resolved in the next update
