Unable to break or delete link to projected geometry in a sketch

I'm working on revising an older design that we completed a couple of years ago.  I have problem with a linked projection.  The sketch has this warning

not unreasonably as I deleted the  body that was projected, I want to change the sketch and not use the projected geometry.  So I manage the lost projection.

and the projected face is where I expect it to be.  I then either break or delete the link and exit the sketch but the lost projection remains.  I can do this multiple times with no effect on the error.

I would really rather not redo the sketch as it contains free hand splines which define the product shape.

The Forum users need to be able to open and work with your model.  Please attach it.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

Thank you for taking the time to reply but, are you serious?

This is a multi assembly, 100 plus component manufactured commercial product and you want me to post it to a public forum?

I would have gone to a support agent but the link for support in F360 no longer works and although the support website tells me I'm entitled to use it, I could see no way of actually raising a ticket.

You know that this is a public forum.
If you are then asked to share the file for analysis and you are not willing to do so, you can make this clear without being presumptuous.
If it is a commercial product, you should also use commercial help.
