UI Scaling Issue on Windows 11 after locking the screen or sleep

Anyone else experiencing this issue?  It's maddening - the only way I can get rid of it is to restart fusion every time my computer goes to sleep and I come back to work again.

Symptoms:

  • UI scaling drops to the default size (small) when resumed from sleep or locking the machine
  • There is a maddening offset between the mouse location on the screen and the mouse location in the fusion UI (offset about 2 inches to the left where actual clicks occur).
    • When this happens, many menus are unusable, The tree browser becomes undocked and floats around as well.
  • Restarting the application fixes the issue, but it reoccurs often
  • Occasionally resizing the application outside of maximized window mode restores the correct UI scale

Factors that may be related:

  • I use an ultrawide monitor at 3440x1440
  • I use 125% display scaling in windows
  • I have 2 other monitors at 2560x1440 with 100% UI scaling each
  • I've disabled the 'high DPI application scaling' in the preferences today (under Graphics -> Display) and the 'High-resolution canvas graphics on high DPI displays' today.  I will follow up if the issues continue to occur with these settings
  • I'm on Windows 11 Pro, i9 13900k processor, Z690 Aorus Elite AX DDR4 motherboard, GTX 1060 3GB graphics card
  • I've been experiencing the issues for at least a few months.
  • I do not experience issues with other applications when this happens.

Due to the mouse re-alignment, i suspect the issue is in either looking at the wrong monitor (Windows API is terribly buggy there), or assuming that a 1440p monitor is a standard 16x9 for resizing / scaling.

Thanks for the report, @bryan_moosman. I suspect that the mixed DPI is the culprit here, in conjunction with a hanging UI thread - the fact that resizing the app fixes it is a common workaround to DPI scaling issues on Windows.

Could you please provide me two pieces of information?

  1. A screenshot of your display topology in Windows - the one in Display Settings where you drag and align each display around in relation to others.

  2. Next time this happens, before resizing or fixing the issue, please use the text command debug.layout and paste the contents here.

Thank you!

I am having this issue as well. Waked from sleep and the UI is tiny.

There are some issues seen when resuming from lock, but they usually fix themselves by resizing the window - can you confirm if this resolves them?

I am also having this same issue, windows 11.   Rescaling the window or moving to a different monitor does not fix the issue.

I also have this issue.  Resizing does not help.
