UI has an empty space on the middle

Dears, my UI has this empty space between the views that cannot be resized nor eliminated. I attached 2 pictures. the first whow how the UI looks and the second one what happen when I try to resize a view.

Just for grins and giggles, select the icon indicated and try the various settings.
