So with the new update there is now an option to measure from current WCS.

I have always pressed the "I" keyboard shortcut to get to measure.

This doesn't have the new feature:

measure with i.png

you have to select measure from the Ribbon:

meaure from menu.png

If reset the keyboard short cut it works but I get this warning

measure.png

If I do this then "I" doesn't work for measure in the design environment.

Sooo yea.

I kinda get whats happening here but I just want to press the "I" key in either environment and get it.

Which is the other environment you refer to?

Sorry, there is the "Normal" measure which works with the "I" Key in both Design and Manufacture environments.

then there is another measure in the Manufacture environment which has the option to measure from the active WCS.

Thanks. I think this is because the command in the manufacture workspace is actually a different command. This would explain why two commands cannot have the same hotkey. However, it is a bit inconsistent to use the same icon and command name. Manufacture is the only workspace with this limitation.

I've logged an improvement ticket for this. Thanks again for posting it.
