Trying to project sketch onto sloping surfaces to then extrude.

I am trying to add the sketch labeled Strap to the surfaces of Component1. This is simply a practice so that I can apply the technique to other models.

I have so far tried to draw directly on the surfaces and extrude, use loft, emboss and project in all its methods. I am failing to complete the task.

Can anyone help?

Hi,

Please show in a hand sketch what you want to achieve and share the file.

Here is a drawing, I would like the strap to be one continuous piece. It will, when I am able to do so, put further details on the raised strap before I add it to the surfaces.

Thank you.

Why not use emboss? You'll need to add two small fillets:Emboss.jpg

I did try emboss in an earlier attempt but it didn't work. I obviously did something wrong somewhere. I'll give it another go.

Thank you.

Using Surfaces, you can get your desired strip and make is flush with each end of the angle surface.  The strip is 3mm thick.  Model attached.

Sorry for the delay. That is what I was trying to do but for some reason the sketch didn't adhere to the surfaces. I will have another attempt.
Thanks

If my Forum post solved your question, please select the "Accept Solution" icon to do three things. I am sorry for the delay in replying to yourself and the others, all had viable solutions. Unfortunately my browser decided to have a fit of the vapours and when I did reconnect the "Accept Solution" button was not displayed.

Thank you for your time. I now need to try and make the solutions work.

Thank you for the offer. I appreciate your time. I will try myself initially, since this is a learning experience for me and I recognise that you have other things to do with your time. However, if I am truly stuck then I will be in touch.

Thank you.
