Trouble editing dowloaded DWG

Hi,

Im a beginer trying to teach myself Fusion 360. I've dowloaded a file from "cadblocksforfree" and i cant see. to edit the model. I can remove parts, but I cant do much else. I'd like to convert the model so that I can change dimensions, add and remove geometry etc. It's really frustrating. HELP! https://www.cadblocksforfree.com/transportation/CADBLOCKSFORFREE0002178/

I recommend that you start with something easier.

I completely agree with @TheCADWhisperer here - trying to start with an already-completed design is, itself, not a great way to learn, and also, vehicle design in particular is also very hard.  You'd be better off picking a simpler design and trying to create it with native Fusion tools first.

One important point here:  If you start with ANY downloaded content, there will not be any dimensions in the model that can be modified.  No format that Fusion supports today brings any dimensions into the Design space.

I completely agree with you. But I'm not looking to alter the original render other than to remove the back and change the colour  (of which  I've already managed to do). I want to design a simple canopy for my truck on top of this model. I just want to change the dimensions of the original so that my measurements work. I do have some knowledge and have designed a far more complex design for a bus I'm building.
