Trim removes constraints???

I know this has been posted before but I have not seen a resolution. When trimming a sketch element that has been offset, mirrored, patterned, etc... sketch constraints disappear. I've seen responses saying you don't need to trim the sketches, you can just extrude certain sections. That's great unless you are trying to extrude a surface where it needs to be all connected. Also why are projected entities not trimmable? also very problematic. Please fix this.

Example attached. Sketch 2 has a projected ellipse with a 3mm offset. Trim any section of the offset ellipse and the dimension disappears and offset relation disappears. If you are trying to create a continuous line to extrude as a surface with an offset relation it is not possible. Also why cant you trim or edit the projected geometry?

When you break the link, the geometry is no longer defined. I'm looking to keep the existing relation but modify only a portion of the sketch

I would not know how to fully define a broken ellipse.

for example, in Solidworks, when I convert (project) the edge of the ellipse it becomes editable but stays constrained to the edge. The black is the projected edge. I trimmed it and now if I drag the blue line, the ellipse always stays on the edge. This way if I go back and edit the original ellipse it will update properly.
